Top SchoolZach Mccormick is a Senior Staff Engineer based in New York with 12 years building and managing global-scale distributed systems across marketing automation, fintech, IoT, healthcare, and mobile security. At Braze he leads the engineering efforts behind Canvas, a workflow engine that orchestrates hundreds of millions of messages per day, and has driven architectural rework, incident remediation, and organizational improvements that improved stability and delivery. He combines deep hands-on expertise across Python, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, and multiple databases with strong operational instincts—having led root-cause hunts for race conditions, hardware failures, and subtle DB driver concurrency bugs. As a former engineering manager and founder, he pairs people leadership and onboarding content creation with practical system design, from job back-pressure systems to componentized messaging pipelines. He also brings a history of applied research and product work, including APM tooling, machine learning pipelines for healthcare data, and mobile sensing projects.
