Top SchoolZach Stein is a Staff Software Engineer in Seattle with 13 years of experience building performance-sensitive systems and real-time infrastructure. He has shipped low-latency networking and media features at Google (WebRTC), optimized performance and asm.js pipelines at Tableau, and now drives engineering work at Tanium. Zach blends deep systems and browser/engine expertise with practical product focus, often working where infrastructure meets front-end performance. Trained with a BS and MS from the University of Washington in computer engineering and CSE, he brings a strong academic foundation to pragmatic, production-scale problems. An underappreciated thread in his career is a consistent focus on measurable performance improvements across diverse codebases, from real-time services to client-side optimizations.
