Top SchoolZachary Steer is a software engineer at Two Sigma with a decade of hands-on experience building data engineering systems and production tools. He brings a strong systems background from internships at L3, Northrop Grumman, and Cisco—where he led an intern project to first place and contributed to real-time malware detection work—and a history of teaching core CS topics at Texas A&M. His toolkit spans C, C++, Java, Qt, Bash and modern engineering practices, and he has experience navigating large legacy codebases and security-sensitive environments (holding Secret clearance in past work). Known for shipping end-to-end features—from design to customer demo—he pairs practical engineering with an educator’s patience for explaining complexity.
