Ognev Zair
Summary
👤
SeniorZair Ognev is a Senior Software Engineer based in Sunnyvale with a decade of professional experience and over seven years focused on Android development, currently building customer-facing mobile experiences at Sam's Club. He combines deep hands-on expertise with modern Android toolchains—Kotlin, RxJava, Dagger 2, and Retrofit—and a track record of shipping everything from single-page apps to large enterprise solutions. Zair has led small Agile teams, rewritten legacy apps under tight deadlines, and integrated protocols like MQTT for real-time features, reflecting a pragmatic problem-solver who knows the platform's hidden pitfalls and practical workarounds. His background spans healthcare, IoT, fintech/crypto wallets, and marketplace systems, and he pairs mobile development with occasional backend work (Java Spring, Postgres) to deliver end-to-end features. Known for improving CI/CD and testing practices, he brings both technical leadership and a hands-on developer mindset to fast-moving product teams.
