Senior🎓
Top SchoolZhe Feng is a Senior Scientist with nine years of experience at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, specializing in the morphology, evolution, and physical processes of deep convective clouds and precipitation. He combines multi-platform remote sensing—radar and satellite—with high-resolution numerical modeling to probe mesoscale convective systems and extreme weather across varied regimes. His work focuses on improving representation of storm systems in regional and global models to enhance predictive capabilities for convective storms and precipitation extremes. Known for bridging observations and simulations across spatial and temporal scales, he leads multidisciplinary efforts that inform Earth system model development. Based in Richland, Washington, he holds a PhD in Atmospheric Science from the University of North Dakota and brings a pragmatic blend of observational insight and modeling innovation to address pressing weather and climate challenges.
